Lecture topic: Artificial intelligence + chemistry and chemical engineering: integration and application

Lecture content: Artificial intelligence is an important driving force for the new round of scientific and technological revolution. The integration of intelligent technology and chemistry and chemical engineering will help update subject knowledge, promote scientific and technological innovation, and improve the digitalization and intelligence level of the chemical industry.

This report introduces two cases of artificial intelligence integration chemistry and chemical engineering research. In the new energy development case, we started from the intermittent and random nature of wind and light, and went deep into the basic characteristics of wind and solar energy. We used the global database of the International Meteorological Organization and the aerospace agency to mine and integrate big data, discovered the law of periodic fluctuations of solar energy, and proposed the concept of phase difference of wind and solar fluctuations, which formed the scientific basis for wind and solar energy coupling and complementary suppression of solar energy fluctuations. As a result, a wind-solar complementary coupling hydrogen production system was developed, breaking through the technical bottleneck, improving the reliability and stability of the new energy system, and the feasibility of large-scale energy supply.

Speaker profile: Qian Yu, Director of the Chemical Engineering System Research Center of South China University of Technology, winner of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, and selected for the National Hundred Thousand Talents Program. Graduated from Tsinghua University in his early years. Also serves as deputy director of the Information Technology Professional Committee of the Chemical Industry Society of China, member of the Chemical Industry Discipline Evaluation Group of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, and member of the Information Technology Expert Group of the European Chemical Industry Federation.
