FYUT (Fuyang University of Technology, code: 13619) was formerly known as the Information Engineering College of Fuyang Normal University, which was founded in 2003, and was approved by the Ministry of Education in October 2023 to complete the transfer. The school is supervised by the Department of Education of Anhui Province, and is the only full-time general undergraduate college of science and technology organised by the state-owned sole proprietorship in Fuyang City and managed by the government of Fuyang City.

The school is located in Fuyang City, a national civilised city, adjacent to the West Lake of Yingzhou, 2.5km east of the main city, 3.5km west of the high-speed rail station and 5km from the airport, with convenient transportation, superior location and beautiful environment. The school covers an area of 1015 acres, with a total investment of about 4.1 billion yuan, a planned student population of 13,500, and a planned total construction area of 492,000 square metres. The school has wireless network coverage, fully functional teaching, living and sports areas, student accommodation environment is comfortable and superior, using standard four rooms, equipped with air conditioning, independent bathrooms. The total value of teaching and research equipment is 43,408,500 yuan, with more than 790,000 books, 33 Chinese and foreign network resource databases, such as China Periodicals Full-text Database, Super Star Digital Library, and 89 internship bases for various professions.

There are 7859 students in the university (1665 in Qinghe Campus and 6194 in Polytechnic Campus). There are 520 full-time and part-time teaching staff, with 33.6% of them holding senior positions and 38.5% of them holding doctoral degrees, among which there are 6 second-class professors, 1 national teaching master and 1 national ‘Ten Thousand People's Plan’ scientific and technological innovation leader. The university has integrated and established the School of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, School of Materials and Chemical Engineering, School of Biological and Food Engineering, School of Humanities and Arts, School of Economics and Management, Department of Basic Teaching (School of Marxism), and Industry-Teaching Integration and Development Centre. There are 37 majors, including 4 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites (visual communication design, software engineering, financial management and food science and engineering majors), 3 provincial characteristic majors (food science and engineering, economics, animation majors), 3 provincial comprehensive reform pilot majors (information and computational sciences, mathematics and applied mathematics, business English majors), and 2 majors included in the provincial training programme for talents with excellence (network engineering, network and new media majors). (Network Engineering, Network and New Media), 2 micro-professionals (Network Information Technology and Security, Food Processing and Nutrition), and has constructed a disciplinary and professional system with engineering as the main body, and the coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as Economics, Management, Science, Literature, Arts, and Agriculture.

In the past five years, the school has been approved 108 provincial teaching quality project projects, including 7 teaching teams, 7 model experimental training centres, 42 boutique courses, and 7 university-enterprise cooperation practice education bases. The university has presided over more than 70 national social science fund projects, provincial and above research vertical projects, published nearly 40 books and teaching materials, published more than 400 academic papers, and obtained more than 60 patents; it has been approved 23 projects of provincial young talents support programme. Students have won the China International Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, ‘Challenge Cup’ National Student Entrepreneurship Competition, National Student Skills Competition for Teachers, National Student Electronic Design Competition, National Student Structural Design Competition, and ‘Creative, Innovative, and Entrepreneurial’ Competition for Colleges and Universities. The university has made remarkable achievements in various competitions at all levels and won more than 600 awards in disciplinary competitions above the provincial level. In recent years, more than 700 students have been admitted to Peking University, Nanjing University, University of Science and Technology of China, Shanghai Jiaotong University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Edinburgh, University of Liverpool, University of Sydney and other famous universities and colleges at home and abroad for postgraduate study. Since the establishment of the school, the employment rate of the school's various majors has risen steadily, providing a large number of excellent high-level applied talents for all walks of life in the society.

The university adheres to the openness of running schools, gathers domestic and foreign high-quality schooling resources, strengthens the connotation construction, and promotes high-quality development. It has established long-term friendly cooperation and academic exchange relations with more than 20 institutions of higher education in the United States, Britain, Japan and countries along the ‘Belt and Road’, such as South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, etc. The university has signed strategic cooperation agreements with Fuyang Normal University and East China University of Science and Technology. Fuyang Municipal People's Government has signed strategic cooperation agreements with Fuyang Normal University and East China University of Science and Technology, explicitly agreeing to jointly build Fuyang Polytechnic. The Anhui (Fuyang) Institute of Advanced Studies, approved by the Ministry of Education, has settled on the campus of Fuyang Polytechnic, making full use of its master's and doctoral training as well as the innovation platform for industry, academia and research, closely cooperating between the university and the academy, and building and sharing high-quality academic resources together.
